New Kidtown Format

We love your children and spending Sunday mornings with them is an honor and a privilege. On Sunday, August 8, we are beginning a new format in Kidtown. We will have KidCare (0-3yr) and KidChurch (4yr-5th grade) which will focus on meeting the needs of each specific age group. This page is dedicated to giving you all the information you need keep up with what’s happening every Sunday for your kids ages 0-5th grade.

What is KidCare?

Each week we will have childcare for our babies up to age 3. This will consist of providing a safe place for them to be watched over and played with.

We are actively searching for paid workers for this age group who can provide friendly and consistent faces for our families of young children. If you know someone who might be interested, send them the link to apply.

What is KidChurch?

Our older children ages 4yr – 5th grade will participate in more of an active learning environment, similar to Awana or VBS. They will begin together in the gym for worship and prayer, and then divide into their morning groups. PreK will dismiss to the Art Room, and K through 5th grade will rotate through three (3) 15-20 minute stations hosted by volunteers that will teach the daily lesson/Bible verse, craft, and games. Baseball Church showed us that the kids really responded to having a lesson interspersed with play. We are excited about this change for our kids and believe that God and His Word will come alive for them!

Safety Protocols

We take the safety and security of your children very seriously. We want you to know what to expect when you check your child into Kidtown. Below are two resources for parents and volunteers.

Check-In

Check-In is moving from the church entrance to the Main Lobby by the Kidtown classrooms. We will have two check-in stations available to keep the lines short.

No need to stand in line at our new self check-in station. This is ideal for families who have checked in at Kidtown before. It’s quick and easy! All you need is your phone number!

Please read the Safety Protocols regarding our updated drop-off and pick-up policies.

Volunteering in Kidtown

We will need 17 volunteers per week to make Kidtown excellent. With the new format, we are providing a more energetic environment for our kids, while doing so with fewer volunteers. If you have not had a background check this will need to be done before you can volunteer. If you’d like to volunteer in KidCare or KidChurch, please contact Hal Garrett to start the process.

Volunteer Sign-Ups

Signing up for Kidtown will be done via Planning Center, and you can designate KidCare or KidChurch as your preference, and for KidChurch, which station you’d like to lead. You will receive an email each week asking you to schedule your dates. If you are able, you can schedule out several months in advance.

KidCare Volunteers

Volunteer responsibilities will be to provide care and play. We are providing childcare for our children 0-3 that includes playing, comforting and diaper changing. The weekly meeting space will be the art room and round wing adjacent to the library.

Paid Workers for KidCare

We are actively searching for paid workers for this age group who can provide friendly and consistent faces for our families of young children. If you know someone who might be interested, send them the link to apply.

KidChurch Volunteers

Volunteer responsibilities will be to staff the three (3) stations the children will rotate within – lesson, craft, and games. The weekly meeting space for PreK will be in the Art Room. For K and up, we will be in the gym (and outside weather-permitting) and surrounding hallways to provide ample space for our children.
