Why Midtown Home Church?

Midtown Home Church

Midtowners, we have such an exciting opportunity today to more fully engage in what it looks like not just to go to church, but to BE the church!

24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

 Hebrews 10:25

This fall, “let us consider” how you will meet with other believers to worship, encourage one another, and learn from God’s word. Many of you may not be able to join us for live services at our two chapels, but would you consider hosting a Home Church? Imagine a home church in your backyard, your driveway, your porch, or even in your living room. You could invite your neighbors, your extended family, another couple or a few friends.

Who can host a home church? YOU!

We will provide resources, programming and support–it’s as simple as opening your space turning on your tv or computer and inviting a few others to join you to participate with our online service. Our staff and leadership are eagerly anticipating what the Lord will do as we enter into this new adventure in bringing the Gospel to homes and lives all over our city. We believe that these words of Jesus are true, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them.” (Matthew 18:20), and we find hope in his promised presence with us whether we worship in a school cafeteria, chapel or on a back porch.

Does my Home Church have to meet on Sunday?

Not necessarily!  We would prefer Home Church happen on Sunday since that is a day that we are accustomed to gathering with believers. During this crazy pandemic season, that rhythm may have been disrupted.  Hosting a Home Church on Sunday could help restore that sacred time when we used to attend worship with other believers.
