Silence and stillness before God (2 Min)

Read Philippians 1:12-30

Plans don’t always work out

Verses 12-14

This was not the plan! Paul’s BHAGs (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) for his life weren’t to spend the remainder of his days in prison. It’s amazing how God seems to work best when our plans come to an end and His plan starts to unfold. Paul was able to share the gospel with the palace guards, write half the New Testament and ignite a movement of people advancing the church in his absence. Often the Lord must bring an end to our BHAGs to ignite His BHAGs in our lives. We are called to follow as the Lord works all things together for the good.

How do you handle life when your plans don’t come together?
How can we trust God when He changes our BHAGs?

The first week there was guided prayer, but from this point on I encourage you to talk honestly with God from your own heart. This is a relationship, not a formula. Remember, prayer is always an invitation from God to be with him (Revelation 3:20), not a way to rub the magic bottle to get what we want. Prayer always changes me first, but is also used by God to change the world.

If this is new to you, use this guide.
