Silence and stillness before God (2 Min)

Gospel Friendship,  Step 4

All good war movies have that moment when a grenade is thrown into the foxhole and Earl from Indiana, out of love for his brothers-in-arms, throws himself on the live grenade. If you’re like me, you question your own character and wonder, “Could I do that for my friends?” . Epaphroditus was one of those men that was willing to give his life for the call of Christ and his love of his friends. It’s the heart of the gospel in what Christ did for us!

 Romans 5:8

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Most of us will never have the chance to literally throw ourselves on a grenade, but we all have the chance to live a sacrificial life for those around us. To see our lives as living sacrifices is to join our Savior in abounding in love for others, because we have experienced that abounding love through Christ.

Who are the friends that Christ has put in your life?

What gets in the way of you living sacrificially for those in your life?

How are you encouraging each other to live sacrificial lives?
