Join the women of 12 South for an evening of preparing our hearts for the Advent season!
We will get to spend some time with Kelly Minter, an author, Bible teacher, and podcaster, who will give us an overview of the Old Testament book of Ruth and talk about how it speaks to our longings and hope in the Gospel.
As we will learn, the story of Ruth sits squarely in the time period of Judges (our fall sermon series focus), when, much like today, “everyone was doing what was right in their own eyes” and things were growing continually bleak for God’s people. The book of Ruth zooms in on the ordinary and complicated lives of a few specific people in a way that shows God’s loving faithfulness in the midst of darkness.
Whether the book of Ruth feels unfamiliar to you or you have studied it many times, we hope that this will be an enriching pause before the holiday season begins to deepen your love of the Word of God and the community of women at 12 South!
