Job Summary:
The A/V Director will oversee all audio and visual operations across the Midtown Fellowship movement, which supports the mission of our church to create a movement of gospel transformation in Nashville through multiple congregations.
The goal of the A/V Director position is to work towards elevating and standardizing the audio/visual quality across all Midtown services, gatherings, and broadcasts.
The A/V Director will work closely with the Worship Co-Op Director, and congregational Worship Leaders and XDs to provide support, resources, and training for audio/visual needs.
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Gain thorough knowledge of existing audio/visual equipment
- Research, learn, and apply current state of the art audio/video engineering techniques, equipment, and best practices
- Elevate and standardize audio/visual equipment across Midtown movement
- Oversee 12th South and Granny White campus, and Youth audio/visual needs
- Oversee Assistant A/V Director
- Purchase, install, setup, and repair audio/video equipment as needed
- Organize, update, and maintain all audio/visual equipment
- Create and maintain inventory of audio/visual equipment
- Evaluate, train, and schedule needed paid/volunteer audio/visual engineers and assistants
- Build and develop team of capable audio engineers
- Provide technical support, solutions, and resources for audio/visual needs for main congregational services
- Manage and complete audio/visual projects as requested
- Work with worship leaders and XDs to develop vision, plans, and budgets for individual congregational audio/visual needs
- Produce high quality live, streamed, and recorded audio/video content for Sunday services as needed
- Produce high quality audio/visual content for events and video recordings outside of Sunday services as needed
- Produce and deliver high quality audio recordings for all podcast needs
- Design, assemble, and maintain portable audio/visual system
- Manage and fulfill all incoming requests for audio/visual systems and engineers related to events outside of main congregational services
- Provide technical support, resources, & training for portable audio/visual systems
- Provide audio/visual equipment and stage setup support for all services & special events
- Provide design, purchasing, installation, and training support for audio/visual needs for new congregations, and oversee launch and transition to Assistant A/V Director
- Archive recordings of all events and services
- Provide audio support for Midtown all staff meetings
Education, Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
- High level of understanding of audio/visual systems
- Experience working with and running live audio/visual systems
- Ability to effectively train and develop engineers
- Ability to manage and prioritize projects
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills to build high-performing teams
Additional skills and experience:
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Experience of and enthusiasm for finding the best technology and industry standards for A/V systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Planning Center, Asana and industry standard audio/visual software
