Part Time (30 hrs/week), salaried

General Description:

The Kidtown Director provides a gospel-centered, fun, and safe children’s ministry experience for babies through fifth grade. This role partners with families to disciple children as lifelong followers of Jesus. Join us in shaping young hearts at Midtown!

Specific Attitudes and Requirements:

  • Loves serving and working with children and families
  • Highly organized and can thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible hours during the week, with Sundays as a required workday (with free childcare)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred, but not required
  • 2-3 years of experience in related field

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the “face” of Kidtown, connecting with new and existing families on Sunday mornings and during the week
  • Manage the Sunday morning logistics of the 8:30 am and 10:30 am Kidtown services at Midtown Granny White.
  • Teach and train volunteers on the curriculum/lesson each Sunday morning
  • Execute age-appropriate and biblically sound curriculum (The Gospel Project) yearly for children ages 2 years old through 5th grade
  • Recruit, train, coach, and lead all Kidtown volunteers as well as managing Kidtown Assistants
  • Create a volunteer schedule in Planning Center every quarter and recruit and schedule volunteers for each room at every service
  • Secure last-minute volunteers as needed for the upcoming Sunday
  • Prepare weekly materials (rosters, lessons, coloring sheets, craft materials, etc.)
  • Plan and execute family engagement events with the Granny White staff ( Fall Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, etc.)

Education, Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have

  • Experience in family and children’s discipleship
  • Winsomeness with outsiders
  • An active and committed Christian faith aligned with the doctrine of the PCA
