This key leadership role aims to expand our capacity to bring the good news of Jesus to the preteens and teenagers in a compelling and sticky way, overseeing their spiritual formation in support of Midtown’s mission to create a movement of gospel transformation in Nashville through multiple congregations.
At Midtown, we have one (1) Youth Ministry, separated into MS and HS, that serves 6-12th grades for our church of 2,500 attendees. Our church comprises six (6) congregations, and the Director of Youth Ministry is tasked with developing high-performing partnerships with congregational teams and volunteers to grow creative, dynamic, gospel-centered ministry for middle school and high school students.
The Director of Youth Ministry will work closely with the Assistant Director of Youth and with Senior Leadership to provide visionary oversight and pastoral leadership to both the Middle School and High School ministries, and will directly oversee the Youth Team.
The Director of Youth Ministry is a full-time position and may work extended hours, evenings, over weekends and public holidays, and on short notice. As a member of the Senior Executive Team, he/she is supervised by the Senior Executive and shall become a member of Midtown Fellowship.
We expect that responsibilities will develop and expand as the ministry grows in its mission. The job holder will oversee the daily workflow of the department, and could serve on various cross-functional teams as a staff representative.
