About Us

Thanks for checking out Midtown Crieve Hall! We are one of five Midtown congregations, and we meet in the south part of Nashville. A visitor said recently, “I like that you put out some chairs, string up some lights, and meet in a school cafeteria”. There may be a little more to it that that, but to tell the truth we like that too. We believe that church is not a building, but the people of God. And you are welcome anytime.

We’d love to see you on a Sunday morning or at one of our other events. Check out the calendar and links on this page, or sign up for the eBulletin to see what’s going on!!

Why Join a Discipleship Group?

Yes, now. Even in a global pandemic. We believe that consistent, intimate gatherings proclaiming the truth of the Gospel as it relates to our lives are the best environment to help us mature emotionally, spiritually, relationally and socially. We believe we need each other.  Discipleship Groups are gatherings of 4-16 people, virtually or in-person, who are committed as a community to building relationships that support maturing in Christ together.  Discipleship Groups use intentionally-designed discussion that is centered on God’s word and facilitated by a trained leader. The resulting community develops believers who are following Jesus and being changed by him, while equipping them to bring his message of Good News into their homes, workplaces, schools and neighborhoods.

We deeply value the students of Midtown and desire to minister to them in creative ways during this season. As we enter into the fall, we believe the next step for the Youth Ministry is for our small groups to gather in person on Sunday evenings. These gatherings will be outdoor, socially distanced small groups hosted by Youth families. We are excited to offer a space for weekly fellowship, worship, and time in God’s Word together! Stay tuned for more information.

Fall Small Group Nights:

September 13, 20, 27
October 4, 11, 18
November 1, 8, 15, 22

We also want to create spaces for students and their family members to gather together this fall! We will be hosting three socially distanced Family Fellowship Nights this semester (8/30, 10/25, 12/6). These gatherings will be a great opportunity for families to engage with each other while also getting to safely interact with other Youth families! The theme for each Family Fellowship Night will be announced as we get closer to the date.

We love your children and spending Sunday mornings with them is an honor and a privilege. On Sunday, August 8, we are beginning a new format in Kidtown. We will have KidCare (0-3yr) and KidChurch (4yr-5th grade) which will focus on meeting the needs of each specific age group. We have a space on our website dedicated to giving you all the information you need to keep up with what’s happening every Sunday for your kids ages 0-5th grade.

At Midtown Fellowship, we recognize that as we are transformed by the work of Jesus on our behalf we are compelled to become agents of this work in the lives of the people around us. We understand that loved people love people. The more we experience our own transformation, we cannot help but seek to encourage, support, and champion this process in the lives of the people around us. In this way, we seek to go on mission with Jesus for the sake of the world around us. We are compelled to act.

As we act, we are guided by our mission statement “To create a movement of gospel transformation through multiple congregations”. This statement guides our efforts in two specific ways as we seek to live missionally in the world around us.

  1. Gospel Transformation: We believe it is a primary responsibility of the church to “equip the saints for works of ministry” (Ephesians 4). That means we focus much of our energy on training our people to understand who they are, what they have, and how to leverage all of that in order to impact the places where God has specifically called them.
  2. Multiple Congregations: We believe God has called us as congregations to the neighborhoods and communities, where we meet. We desire to step into these areas not only to serve as a place for spiritual growth but for emotional and physical growth as well. It’s a tangible place for us to be the physical representation of our God to individuals in these communities.

We invite you to start living missionally. If you have questions about how to get involved please email chserves@midtownfellowship.org.

These are opportunities where we invite all of our people to live missionally – as youth, families and groups.

  • Kidtown – Kidtown volunteers serve the youngest in our community by sharing the gospel and loving them each week during the service. We have a hope that 100% of our congregation would serve in Kidtown each year. Email Jen Jackson to learn how to serve in Kidtown.
  • Giving – Read more about why we give and how giving is an act of mission.
  • Blessing Bags – We will assemble bags of food for 190 children in need at Granbery, Crieve Hall and Binkley Elementary Schools. Each bag contains enough food to help our young friends thrive during fall, Christmas and spring break.

We commit to contribute financially to the organizations represented in our community reaching places we cannot reach without them.

  • Young Life Capernaum – Suzanne Williams, a Crieve Haller, helps lead Young Life Capernaum, an outreach ministry for teenagers and young adults with disabilities. Please email Suzanne if you would like to hear more.
  • Servant Group International – To help serve immigrants in Nashville from the Middle East, especially Iraq and Syria, Servant Group International runs several volunteer programs to help them adjust, make friends and learn of the hope and love of Christ. If you would like to know more or to serve with us, visit the Servant Group Nashville website or email Colleen McGarry.
