It’s simple. We want to be a movement that actually witnesses people being transformed by the life giving message of Jesus Christ. We believe that we are called to carry out that mission by planting many different congregations throughout the city of Nashville and beyond.
Our Downtown congregation has its own dedicated pastor who works in union with the other Midtown pastors and a single leadership team that serves all congregations. Our hope is that Downtown would serve to create intimate venues for people to:
At Midtown, our Sunday worship services are specifically designed for you to hear the Gospel. In 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Paul declares and defines the Gospel clearly: “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.”
Midtown is about the Gospel – the Gospel message is of first importance for us. Jesus is the hero of the story and the centerpiece of the entire Bible. This is what it means to be Gospel centered: focused on who Jesus is, what He said, and what He did. The Gospel is at the center of everything we do.
At Midtown, we believe that gathering people in small groups for the purpose of discipleship is the most important thing we can do as a church. Jesus doesn’t call us to be church-goers. He calls us to be the church. He calls us to be His disciples and then He calls us to disciple others. He calls us to grow, change, and mature in the context of intentional relationship with other disciples.
We look at how Jesus discipled to find a biblical model for small group ministry. He used Scripture, told stories, and shared his whole life with his disciples. Eventually releasing them into the world to make disciples thus beginning a ministry of multiplication.
Midtown Small Groups work in the same way. We focus on studying the Word, developing relationships with each other, and maturing in our faith until we are ready to make disciples ourselves. Group leaders are trained in a Biblical model of making disciples. As group participants experience spiritual growth, they become ready to make disciples and branch from their group to start a new one. Disciples become disciple-makers, and the ministry of Jesus continues to spread.
All Midtown small groups are currently on summer break. Check back in August to sign up for a group!
Kidtown is for children who are in 5th grade or younger.
Located on the main level of the Granny White building, the nursery is for children who are two years old or younger. Most of our youngest babies are 6 months old, but we welcome babies who are younger, too. Our nursery coordinator will greet you in the hallway upstairs and help you find your child’s room.
Located on the main level of the Granny White building, Pre-K & K is for children who are three years old through Kindergarten. In these classrooms, children will hear Bible stories, worship God through music, participate in fun activities, and play together.
Located in the lower level of the Granny White building, Elementary is for children kindergarten and up. In the elementary classes, children will read from the Bible, learn about the books of the Bible, worship God through music, and play together on the skateboard ramps.

The Youth Ministry at Midtown is all about seeing Gospel transformation happen in the lives of our students. We believe that God’s transforming work comes through Jesus Christ, the work of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and our participation in community.
The Midtown Youth team is focused on helping students mature in their faith through understanding and living out of their identity as disciples of Jesus. As Matt. 4:19 explains, a disciple is someone who…
A study on The Sermon on the Mount
We believe that God has called us to be more than just hearers of the Gospel. That He has in fact called us to be doers of the Gospel as well. Through our partnership with Napier Elementary, we have an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ to a group of students and families who are often times overlooked in our city.
If you would like to get involved at Napier Elementary, we would love to help you get started.
Michael & Jenny Gilbert
We have had a great partnership with Napier over the years and have gotten involved in many ways. One-day school beautification projects, meals for staff, adopting classrooms, helping classrooms obtain a class pet, providing school uniforms, attending/supervising lock-ins, tutoring, mentoring, etc. However, we are always looking for new ways to connect the gifts God has given His people with the needs of this school community. If you have an idea about a unique way to incorporate your giftings in these schools, we want to dream with you and see if we can’t make that a reality. Please contact us!
